Fruit Typing Challenge Translation Guide
This release includes an English translation template named
Fruit_Typing_Challenge_translation_template_en.txt.
The template is shipped with the game in the docs folder
and can also be downloaded from
hongjun.org.
The same text is the game’s authoritative English language file.
The current French, German, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese translations
are AI-generated. They may contain errors or awkward wording and have not
necessarily been reviewed by native speakers. Corrections from fluent
speakers are welcome.
How to Make a Translation
-
Copy
Fruit_Typing_Challenge_translation_template_en.txt. -
Rename the copy with a short language or locale code and the
.txtextension. Examples:es.txtfor Spanishfr.txtfor Frenchpt-BR.txtfor Brazilian Portuguesezh-CN.txtfor Simplified Chinese
-
Change the display name on the
lngline at the top of the
file. Write the language name the way its speakers normally write it. -
Translate only the text after the first equals sign. Do not change the
key before the equals sign.Play = Play Play = Jugar -
Keep every key from the template. Do not remove, rename, reorder, or add
keys unless the developer asks you to do so. -
Preserve every placeholder exactly. Placeholders look like
%0,%1,%2, and%3.
They are replaced by the game with scores, times, names, or other values.
You may move a placeholder to a natural position in the sentence, but do
not change or remove it. -
Keep one entry per line. Do not put a second equals sign in a translated
value unless it is genuinely required. -
Use clear, natural wording for menus, instructions, controls,
achievements, statistics, and confirmation messages. Use the same terms
consistently. -
Save the file as plain UTF-8 text. Windows or Unix line endings are both
accepted. -
Fruit names must remain in English. Players type the exact fruit names
shown by the game, so translating those names would change the gameplay.
Submitting a Translation
There is no automatic upload or in-game submission service in this release.

Please include:
- The language and locale, if applicable.
- Whether this is a new translation or a correction to an existing one.
- The name or nickname you would like used in the credits, if any.
- Whether that name may be published.
- Any sections that still need review.
Please do not include private information, links, advertisements, or
unrelated text in the translation file. Submissions are reviewed before
being included in a future build. Sending a translation does not guarantee
that it will be accepted or that it will be included in the next release.
English Fallback
English remains the fallback language. If a key is missing from a
translation, the game uses the English text for that key. This does not
make incomplete translations acceptable: please check that every template
key is present before submitting.
